Zeto
blends form and function with its playful yet mature designs. Whether
charmed by the subtle and intricate beauty of each garment or attracted
by the clean, minimalist lines each piece in Zeto’s Collections
is a declaration of individual expression.
Established in 2001 by fashion designer Nami Ogawa and artist Brian Holderman,
Zeto’s Collections are influenced by Japan’s cultural sophistication
and elegance with contemporary metropolitan American aesthetics. Zeto
pays homage to the elegant styles of the past, while advancing innovative
designs that appeal to today’s progressive youth market. At Zeto,
we believe quality and artistic sensibility are of utmost importance—Zeto
uses only the highest quality original fabrics, custom-dyes, light weight
inks, and best in-house artwork to accentuate each piece of clothing.
Nami Ogawa, was born and raised in Tokyo. Her mother’s
passion and dedication for designing clothes, as a renowned seamstress,
was instilled in Nami as a youth But as a teen she spent most of her time
at ballet practice, her other passion. And thus, early in her career she
never thought of becoming a fashion designer. It was as a professional
ballet dancer that she re-kindled her passion for fashion design. In preparation
for a performance, she was asked to produce the ballet dance troupe’s
costumes; they were beautifully done, well received, and rewarding for
her to make. Nami soon realized fashion designing is her true vocation.
She quit ballet and became involved with the fashion industry (e.g. buyer
for Benetton, American Eagle Outfitters, and designed for Stussy, Obey,
and Roxy.). Now as co-founder of Zeto, she is Zeto’s chief designer,
and manages Zeto’s flag ship store, Apartment.

to causal street wear. They also run a shop and gallery called Apartment
located in their Pittsburgh home.
